The Legislature is considering several recently-proposed pieces of legislation related to the nominations of local election officials by political parties.  The Senate Committee on Elections and Urban Affairs has scheduled a public hearing for Wednesday, September 4.  For information about the proposed bills, please see the attached hearing notice.

In preparation for this hearing, the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board is conducting a brief survey of clerks  about their experiences with political parties nominating election officials.  Our goal is   to provide a better understanding to the Legislature of clerk experiences about this topic.

The survey, which asks up to nine questions and should take less than five minutes, is available here:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MHQ65D6.

Please complete this survey as soon as possible so that we can provide feedback from municipal clerks to the Legislature while it is considering the relevant proposals.  We greatly appreciate your assistance.  If you are not able to respond immediately, we will keep the survey open for a few weeks and provide the Legislature with updated results at future hearings.
