MADISON, WI – The Government Accountability Board office will be open on Friday, November 26, 2010.
Most other state offices will be closed on November 26 for a mandatory furlough day.
The Government Accountability Board’s eight-day mandatory furlough schedule differs somewhat from that of other agencies because of the election schedule. November 26 was not scheduled as a mandatory furlough day in the event of a possible statewide election recount. While there is no statewide recount, staff will be preparing to certify the 2010 General Election results on December 1, and preparing for the 2011 Spring Election. The first day for candidates to circulate nominating petitions is also December 1.
Additional furlough days are listed on the Board’s website calendar. The agency’s next mandatory furlough day is April 22, 2011.
