Governor Appoints Judge Deininger to G.A.B.

MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced the appointment of the Honorable David G. Deininger to
the Government Accountability Board. Deininger will succeed Judge William Eich for a term to end May 1,
2016.

The Government Accountability Board serves as an independent, non-partisan regulatory body that
administers and enforces the state’s election, campaign finance, and ethics laws.

The nominee will now proceed to the Senate to receive confirmation.

The Honorable David Deininger is currently serving as a reserve judge and formerly served on the
Wisconsin Court of Appeals until 2007. He previously served as a circuit court judge in Green County and a
member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. He has also worked in private law practice, as corporation
counsel in Green County, and as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Deininger received his B.S. from the U.S.
Naval Academy and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He is active in several
community organizations in Green County. Deininger and his wife Mary live in Monroe.
