Notes:
Legislation has passed which requires a signer of a nomination paper to legibly print his or her name next to his or her signature.  The templates attached above conform to this requirement.

It has come to the Government Accountability Board staff’s attention that the Certification of Circulator, on the sample Nomination Paper for Partisan Office (GAB-168) previously provided by the G.A.B., was missing a statement regarding the residency of a circulator. The additional language is included on the sample attached above.

Wis. Stat. § 8.15(4)(a) was revised to add this language with 2005 Act 451, following a series of lawsuits, including one in Wisconsin, that determined that a petition circulator need not be a resident of the district but must be a qualified elector of WI, or if not, would meet the qualifications to vote in WI if he or she did reside in WI.
