Notes:
It has come to the Government Accountability Board staff’s attention that the Certification of Circulator, on the sample Nomination Paper for Independent Candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor (GAB-166) previously provided by the G.A.B., was missing a statement regarding the residency of a circulator. The additional language is included on the sample attached above.

Wis. Stat. § 8.15(4)(a) was revised to add this language with 2005 Act 451, following a series of lawsuits, including one in Wisconsin, that determined that a petition circulator need not be a resident of the district but must be a qualified elector of WI, or if not, would meet the qualifications to vote in WI if he or she did reside in WI.
