Check out our webcam

For security reasons, we're unable to provide public access to the recall petition processing center.  But we have set up a webcam to give the public and the media a way to check in and see what's happening.

5Nines.com, a Madison-based technology company, is providing the feed at no cost to taxpayers.  We're working on some issues with the picture quality right now, so please bear with us.

Waukesha County Recount Extension

On Monday, May 9, Dane County Circuit Court Judge Richard Niess ordered an extension in time for Waukesha County to complete its Supreme Court recount until May 26, 2011.  A status conference will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 13.

G.A.B. staff will continue to work with Waukesha County officials to identify methods to accelerate the recount process without affecting the transparency, accuracy or the public's confidence in the recount.

Monday Update: One spreadsheet update today

G.A.B. staff will not have a noon post today with an updated spreadsheet.  Staff is reviewing all the information that came in over the weekend and this morning.  Today's update should include information for all counties except Waukesha County, which received an extension this morning.

Friday afternoon update

The recount is complete in 68 of Wisconsin's 72 counties, and 60 of 72 counties have been certified.  We expect all but Waukesha County will be complete by the deadline on Monday, May 9.

The G.A.B. will be in court Monday morning seeking an extension.

Waupaca County Recount Minutes

Posted in

Earlier this week an issue arose in Waupaca County after the recount discovered votes that were accidentally omitted from the original canvass of the election.  In our efforts to explain what happened, we reported information from the county clerk, which we later discovered also contained some errors.

To eliminate any confusion, we are posting excerpts from the official minutes of the Waupaca County Board of Canvassers for the towns of Larrabee and Royalton, where additional votes were discovered.  Please click on the attachments below.
